LTL GINGERNUTS

LTL GINGERNUTS

(Nut free. Warning contains egg)


Recipe Information:1 cup plain flour

1 cup organic rye flour

½ teaspoon baking powder

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1 tablespoon ground ginger

125g Nuttelex butter

¾ cup brown sugar

1 free range egg

2 tablespoons golden syrup

Optional - Organic raw sugar for pressing


Method:

  • Preheat oven to 180 degrees celsius.
  • Melt butter, sugar and syrup in large pot over low heat.
  • Once melted remove from heat and sift in flours, spices and baking powder (direct to pot).
  • Mix together, add beaten egg and mix dough again.
  • Roll dough into small balls, lightly press into raw sugar (optional), place on a lined baking tray and press down with a fork to flatten slightly.
  • Bake for 15 minutes.
  • Remove from oven and transfer to a wire rack to cool.
